Ive been contacted lately by Fat tire, and we have been talking alot about what's wrong with this server.
First, this server is dear to my heart but there is so much wrong with it. secound, i am not trying to hurt anybody with this post, but this is the truth.
What's wrong with this server, and why i decided to quit
here is some quick pointers:
-> Staff -> Updates -> Nerfs -> ECO
Staff
The staff members on this server is great, but i feel the communication between staff members is lacking. Ive witness the fall of a rc bug, and i myself busted the guy by proveing his method, tho i told staff nothing were done. After 3 weeks offline ive heard that the bug abuser got banned.
There happends quite often that the server has no staff members online, and that is a huge downside with this server, specially when it goes out on peoples who want to play the game.
Updates
Let's be honest!, have there been any good updates on this server since launch? or any updates that have benefitet us players beside major nerfs?
Nerfs
Now this is one of the points i am specially sad about. The staff members decided to nerf a skill to the maximum after they banned a bug abuser for runecrafting. earlier it was an accomplisment to get 90+ rc just to make soul runes, when you get 90 rc now, you kinda wasted your time. That is not right! You bearly made 1200k an hour with rc, and with fletching you can easily make 1500k an hour if your not playing at peek time.
ECO
Let's be honest, this server dont have a healthy eco, theres so many items comming into the game, that the rare items are crashing and are bearly worth anything. Item's that keeps server alive is the skilling items, but so few ppls are going for max total anymore.
Why i quit
All those things listed above made me quit, and but majority of it was because of lack of updates.
I'll agree with all Of this except the rc nerfing. We need more staff, like 2x as much staff. The update will eventually come, we all have our own lives and so Does pyru.
I respect your opinion, but I will personally have to disagree with a few of your points. The communication between our staff team is actually excellent. You can confirm this by asking any of our staff members.
Updates:
I don't disagree that this patch/updates needs to be released. With that being said, we also need to ensure said patch/update is stable (no dupes, glitches, etc). We would like to prevent releasing a patch/update that could do more harm than good. Said patch/update requires rewriting "core" files, and a lot of additional coding.
Our developer and team have been working a lot of hours daily to achieve this patch, and I think once we release it, you and others may understand the complexity behind it.
We just urge you all to keep remaining patient, we are not giving up on anything, and are working our butts off to bringing you all some exciting updates and changes.
Nerfs:
You need to understand, we nerfed said skills, only because the rate at which you received maximum loot, was far too often and high. For example, you thieve on 5 thievers at once, obtaining 500 GP per successful thieve, that's 2,500GP within a few seconds. Now, think to yourself how many people were on 5 + thievers at once, obtaining that amount of loot. It did not make any sense and would have ended up killing the economy in no time at all.
In regards to the RuneCrafting "nerf":
Soul runes were never intended to have an alch value of 1500GP each. This is self explanatory and should not need any explanation as to why the price on said rune was reduced.
Economy:
This economy is the most stable economy any RSC private server has. We have a total of 500M GP in our entire system. If you think that is "unstable" then you're sadly mistaking.
We do not have any "rare" items released yet, so you can't really put a price / availability on "rare" items. We do have a plan, currently being worked on, to allowing users the ability to spend their gems on cosmetics and other useful things. This will provide a good "sink" to said currency.
The price of rune and other items will level out, it's just the rarity of it, was what drove certain users to drive prices so high. You need to understand, any "new" server undergoes fluctuation in prices as armor, items, rares are made available.
Keep plugging away staff, the server is great, yeah there some hiccups but all in all its a great way to replay classic.
Just because... How on Earth can you make 1500k an hour fletching? Is this having all mats and bows ready then just alching? I dunno of there's some hidden secret but it takes me way longer than an hour to cut and put together that many bows... Not too mention you have to have the strings ready annnnd the bows cut beforehand

It's been reduced, twice. Only around 2M for all quests to make one now. Plate Pures existed in real rsc. Eliminating Axe and Plate takes away all skill behind Staking and knowing what/when/how well you switch.
I was not banned for anything to do with RuneCrafting. Also despite what people say, I only made around 20M with the skill. This has been confirmed thru Activity and Trade Logs. I will say the hype behind RuneCrafting didn't help my case when I was banned for something competely unrelated, but I just don't really care enough to appeal nor have much time to play.
I do however love the RSC community and wish the best of luck to any server that has a playerbase. I still plan to pop in to read what's going on. The RC nerf was an over-reach. There is literally 0 purpose in the skill now. It loses money with EVERY type of Rune except Double Natures which is a far as fuck walk and not good money/hour. As far as Souls go, it's a 5 minute walk with aggressive Ogres to make 45K per trip. It's good money yes, but it also takes 150H of skilling, making nothing to get there. If anything, it should have been reduced instead of Nerfed.
Would also like to point out having played around 100 different servers over past 11y, I've never seen Thieving Nerfed. Unless you're getting 99 Smithing or Prayer, gold serves almost no purpose. All other skills can be done cheaply and quickly. Especially with x15 rates. Honestly, the only purpose of "rares" is help to deal with the enormity of unnecessary GP. Nerfing Skills will only make people go play somewhere else. 500M GP now ay? In a year when there's 5 Billion GP+ and only 150 players it isn't going to make a difference if someone can make 1M per hour Thieving or RCing. There are better ways than Nerfing, it is up to the Staff Team to come up with them.
Some good examples:
* Higher Portal Cost for NO portal timer after death (for stakers)
* Degradeable Skilling Boosters to be bought for GP in an in-game Store (example a golden hammer that costs 200K and gives you better experience for 1h)
* We have different colored feathers in helms, expand on that with other kinds of small cosmetic changes
* Automated Lottery with 10% Tax
* Organized PvP with Buy-Ins and 10% Tax
While Pyru can read code well enough to look for malicious activity, he can't code. I think he truly has honest intentions when he says this and that is coming soon, but at the end of the day he is relying on others and waiting same as you.
About Updates, isnt they from rscrevolution? Seems like you guys been out of ideas for awhile now. Just code something new, why you always copy orsc or rsc revv?
It's frustrating that they've been saying the ''new patch'' / ''new pking update'' is done by next week, for like 2 months now?... and ZERO info being given about what the update would even be.
What actually is more annoying, that we asked for more training spots in wildy, or just double the amount of the current npc's we have in wildy, and they said yes, will be done and so on, and still nothing. Even though that takes literally 5 mins, and cant be done in 2 months. How do you still have excuses to cover for that..
Same was with drops, whole community agreed that they should be re-done and looked into and the answer from staff were ''Yes, they will be upgraded'' and one of the admins said that he already DID it, even though he didn't.
Things are exactly how they were before on RSCE and other servers.. '' Updates are coming, we have real life issues, we have promising new stuff on the way!'' and nothing being done, not even the most easiest and most simple fixes/updates that would literally take none of ur time,i bet the majority of the community are already losing their hope, considering this is not the first time this is happening.
It's a shame seeing so many people quit already, after such a great start. You guys could atleast give the players a sneak peak towards what the new patch is about, so they know they have something to wait for.

Am I right in saying that we play games for fun? This server isn’t fun, no staking scene for a start. Pking 5v1 isn’t fun either and you barely see anyone just chatting in edge about the game. The Chat is pure shit and bad mouthed. More staff are needed from different time zones. I’ve tried enough to become a mod, yet never get a reason why not..
I’m all for working to gain money, which I’ve proved again in reaching 99 smithing on my own and not having 3 people join play.
The fact of the matter is, if gp is hard to get, players can’t use it to stake or buy further skilling items or pking supplies. Monster drops should be good enough for people to aim to train to flats to go farm them.

the question is:
would you rather have more people PK'ing/staking if they got their accounts in a different way instead of training
or
would you rather have less action and people training instead of doing actual gameplay
personally, i'd be more interest of having some return for any spent minute in here instead of wondering if there's anybody staking/PK'ing.
Well you can’t have both at the same time right? Unless you have five accounts online like most do.. You can’t buy pk supplies or stake without earning gp to buy items. At this moment in time, there are enough skillers to provide the community with everything. Yet the limitations for using armour for staking is making it quiet. And most people don’t have spare money to stake anyway. If monster drops were more generous then there would be more wealthier people. Which would increase the want of supplies to buy for pking or staking. But flooding the server with gp is also a bad idea, as it makes somethings worthless. Already r2hs are 40-45k yet it takes 3 rune bars to make and requires 99 smithing. The actual cost to get 99 smithing doesn’t reflect the price of the r2h. A rune plate takes 5 bars, but you can buy one for 65k. So does that make rune bars worth 13k each? And r2hs 39k each? There is no money in smithing anymore. All smith had the best chance, I bet it was easy having 3 or 4 people use the account. He should have set the prices as we are all use to being, 50k a rune item. Instead of being greedy and asking for 1-200+ at the start.
Items are that cheap to buy right now because the production is higher than the demand. We need more players, more staff, more events, more fun.
Admins don’t give a duck. Not hard to put several small patches in instead of a “huge” one. Break the current patch being worked on into 1/10 and release it every few weeks. Will keep people going. Now everyone just knows you are all full or shit

We had more players, but they decided to leave for the stated reasons and i can not blame them. We have enough mods in my opinion i think, but you're right about events. We have 4 mods, right? And i've seen a total of 1 pking event/event in general since the beginning.
It's difficult because a staff team really depends on their coder for lots of things and finding a coder who has the free time to invest in the server can be really hard to find.
I think there also needs to be a serious discussion about multilogging in wild.. Pro's and con's of allowing such high numbers of clients etc. Pking being one of the foundations of RS really needs to be monitored because if people aren't having fun or at minimum, feeling like they have a chance, then they simply wont play. Don't get me wrong, some people are really good at multilog (I could watch laid2rest pull of the shit he does all day lol) but is it worth the cost of the servers survival?
I don't agree with Tommy about there not being enough events though? Within first 3 days of playing I had already been in 4-5 events lol. But pking tournaments, done right, could be really hype. (Make it happen Murda 😄)
