Just wanted to throw some feedback out there regarding holiday drops from monsters.
I love the idea, the implementation was great, but I feel that broadcasting the holiday drop was a bit too much. It appeased people in the sense of being able to see that items were dropping, but it also enabled multiple high-level pkers to just kill those people far too easily.
I have my fair share of rares, so I'm not bummed about that, but finally getting a drop and being swarmed by level 88s within 5-10 seconds was extremely upsetting. I understand that it's the wilderness and what not, but considering it was hard enough to get a drop and just have it taken away that quickly made me really not want to try for it anymore. In the future, if a sort of delay could be implemented (15-30 seconds) that would be optimal.
Anyways, great week of events. Just a bummer the events ended that way for me. Looking forward to the weeks to come!
Well yeah, I've been at hobs from the beginning of event week. Gained 76-99 attack, 4m+ str xp and like 13+ elixir drops and Zero rare drops. Was fun to see people getting rare drops at hobs and the next second the pkers came. Some of them got away with rares, some of them were afk all the way and didn't even pick up the rare and some of them got pked. The reason why people didn't get their rares, was that they were too long afk and didn't notice that they had a drop. Somehow I'm still here playing RSCEmulation even some people have 50+ rares. I still can't stop mentioning my rare count: 0 rares from npc's 0 rares from giveaways 0 rares from events 0 rares from chests (didn't even see any chests once)(lol) 0 rares from drop partys
My gain from this event week = 0gp's Some people got over 1b+ in stuffs... Some
I got rares more then its fair and nonetheless I so agree it failed, idea and effort was good! I lost all the interest, also I know many players who quit for months or a year after getting the rares... This kind of implemention wasnt right to keep server active in long term. cheers
My main feedback was giving a signal to the entire server that I have a rare, come kill me. It's easy to park an alt at every location (especially with a clan doing this) and once it gives a notification you go there and crash their party.
People that quit upon the event week concluding, honestly are playing for the wrong reasons. Can anybody tell me, what is the point of playing this game if all you are consumed with is obtaining a bunch of pointy hats that add no equipment bonus, but simply hold mega-value?
What’s the point of it all, if you aren’t gaining enjoyment from pking, staking, skilling, questing, or simply reliving your nostalgic days out? I understand the appeal of rares (trust me, I get boners for those burger king crowns too), but it isn’t everything. And somehow it’s become that way.
