Just my thoughts on adding a new skill called Slayer.
- New slayer NPC's? I know we all want new monsters but creating them would be very difficult. In case you didn't know, a lot of NPC's are duplicates edited by size and color. RSCE could continue with this. Example: A green level 69 skeleton with its size increased.
- We do not need new areas, just fill in the vast and empty P2P landscape.
- When people hear we have Slayer AND RuneCrafting new players will arise.
We are going to add slayer, we are, but to what degree.. However theres two approaches to this skill. Either we create the monsters by using the RSC default appearance, change colours, some edits etc. And produce 30+ monsters doing that, or we are going hardcore and create monsters from scratch, never seen before, and landscape too.
RSC players have to realize that it isnt cheap, for us (RSCE) and just to be open about it, REV has a free designer (n0m) the owner of REV his girlfriend is a designer so the graphics are for free. Its a huge huge difference, we have to pay our designer massive amount of dollars for her invested time and frames she produce. She has already produced a Boss NPC, which wasnt cheap by any means and i understand her because she did give us a buddy price and all the changes she did to satisfy us and the RSC style. Most of the players think that we are cashing 100% on the game itself, but we dont, we invest alot into new content aswell. I am programming almost for free, believe it or not, however design is something we have to pay for.
We are talking 30+50 monsters, that is equal to 4500 dollars by just talking graphics(cheap as hell), then me adding all the monsters to the game, and then adjustments to the monsters that needs it.
The skill itself is already created, i created slayer a very long time ago, the system itself. It took me just a couple of hours. With that said, if you want a proper skill with all monsters created, items, and skill items along with that, we are talking serious amount of money for us to produce that content. Anyways I figured I needed to be upfront regarding Slayer, and now you got it. Is it worth it, is it not.
Rain, Have you considered not introducing new monsters but rather a RNG based quest that gives you a certain number of monsters to kill for example 300 black dragons or 25 moss giants to reduce the cost? This could be similar to how Slayer works in the current version of Runescape but scale it down to RSC. This might help get people out of edgeville 24/7.
So basically yes to the realistic version of slayer? Or did you change your mind while writing your reply?
We could brainstorm idea's for monster NPC's.
Frozen Demon - It does not move with the original frames of RSC, instead it stays at 1 or 2 frames and its color is bright blue. Re-usable skin: Lessor Demon.
That's all I could think of right now, but there could be an undead village with standard zombies and character skins.

I 100% support any of yours suggestion regarding Slayer, and I will release it for you if its solid on paper. I was told that Slayer was completely unncessaary if i went the route of using already existing monsters. The system, the skill itself is already done and I can even show images of that.
Even since the last server, i had that completed because i was hyped and wanted to release that skill until i realized that the skill requested from players where on a total different level. New monsters, and items, and bound items to the skill. We can do alot of magic if we use already existing sprites, i am just not sure if that is respected from our player base
Slayer is completely pointless in rsclassic. The only way it should be added if slayer bosses get unique drops and customizing rsclassic to much will kill the server. Adding slayer is basically a waste of Dave's time.

Yea wasting Dave's time as in flaming the Admin for having completed a slayer system? You don't know what will kill the server either... people want skills. When potential new players are choosing a RSC PS to spend their valuable time on, they look for player base and skills that's it. Advertising slayer and runecrafting will help RSCE a lot more than you ever will.

I agree, I can’t see why anyone would “quit” because a skill is added into the game to increase the attractiveness to new players and add excitement to skillers. If your a current player and don’t like slayer, don’t do it. It’s a poor reason to “quit”.

Pking is the biggest thing for RSC, but no slayer won't kill rsce, but it will kill it in a sense that he could be working on a dm arena, custom pk areas, wilderness npc's/bosses.
I don't understand what you think slayer will bring, its just farming the same skeletons 100x to get a skill up, and without introducing custom items like god swords, and custom dragon crossbows or full dragon slayer would be completely pointless.
It is about like firemaking, if firemaking wasn't in the game no one would miss it, but it is a nice skill to get to 99 when you are bored.

What are you even talking about??? Skills outweigh combat 12 - 7. The rest of your post is complete nonsense. Glad you're banned, you obviously have no sense to even notice anything that goes on with Admins here. Good riddance.
Why would it have to be 100% new unique monsters? I can see some being that way (like Kurasks that require leaf bladed weaponry). Adding new weapons and armor that are more powerful, you have to watch for power creep. Extra Credits did a great video on that.
