I think what happens sometimes is players discuss things, and they feel like they're beating a dead horse. Not that every suggestion will be accepted, but just in general. They feel like they aren't getting as much back as it's same old each time we try to redo the server.
Again I'm just saying things I've heard, I am not one of those global trolls saying "dying!" But I try to speak out against that.
I understand it may be demotivating. Everyone is in a rough state at the moment it seems, so I'm hoping we'll turn it around!!
What's the timeline on these transfers? All skills come over, so no point to skill if you have a v1 character? What about highscores, the people who got their levels on this version will be offset by those coming in, with possible set stat accounts (unless something was split, which seems kind of odd too, maybe not, i dunno).
You seem like a bitchy woman no offense, let them try something to revive their server, they don't need a negative Nancy putting everything down.
Given that V1 is coming back, it has to be the main carrier server of the database merges if is this to ever work out properly otherwise it will just not fly and fail in the long run. These are the following reasons why this should be the case:
It has the biggest database out of any other previous emu versions and including the current one. Therefore it is only logical that transfers and other database merges are absorbed into it.
It's just that V1 had a very reliable and consistent combat formula out of any pservers (even real Rsc formula was shit) that made pking, staking and farming etc all that much more enjoyable (either Pyru or Kryptix, whoever done the initial formula settings is a fucking genius). A good cb formula serves as a very important main artery to ensure any pserver success and long term server survival which V1 had. What everyone is going through right now playing on this current server is it is so frustrating and shocking that you are always getting hit by lvl 3 chickens when ur 99 def full-rune or not is just extremely plain retarded, hitting a lot of ridiculous low damage integers such as from 1s to 7s is plain retarded too when ur 99 str you should be seeing a lot more of 15-20+ damage integers, and the frequency of landing hits in are so random as well that it is retarded too when ur 99 atk you still dish out a lot of 0s non stop.
Finally, V1 has a fair NPC droptable with reasonable percentages, many skills providing (unchanged) adequate returns compared to previous emu versions and the current. As well as other useful features and nuances that are a very often overlooked in most pservers and not fixed which otherwise made the game that more enjoyable. Interestingly, V1 has covered many of those potholes than most pservers and various emus that has quite very often failed to address. For example on here, the ship in port sarim does not sail directly to catherby when it is suppose to, especially for those who wants to fish for swordies, sharks etc. Instead you have to first sail to karamja and walk all the way to brimhaven and then to ardy and walk from there......I don't know if that has been fixed ever since but that is not the point. This current server and previous has a lot of more unfixed shit that I won't go into and it lacked a lot of luxuries that V1 enjoyed having.
I hate to break it to you Alucard but the RSCE v1 formula is the same as we are using now 🙂 and have been using since day 1.
We aimed to have the entire game fully replicated, then QoL and other updates added to the server. Our current source is the most stable source you will ever find in RSCPS. That's also the main reason we have worked dead hard on our new core. It was expected that we would se a lot of bugs and crashes when you take on such a project. All these crashes, most bugs are solved.
RSCE v1 did not have much content. I have seen the server source of v1, it's lightweight at best with outrageous poor codes, but that is to be expected as it was things added on top of the RSCD v25 source base (by multiple people).
RSCE (previous sources) was not stable by any means, thats also why they required a restart every single day in order for it to not leak and then crash.
The things you are talking about for example drops, we can implement those drop rates into our server, thats not a problem. We are already using the combat formula, so thats not going to change anything since its the exact same.
The other details you are mentioning is easy to just port over aswell and I do understand that most of you RSCE players like them, so we will correct that.
When it comes to the database merge, there's alot of things we are differencing. Our new source base and database structure is nowhere near the same as RSCE v1, so it's going to take quite a lot of effort in to merging the two properly.
If the V1 formula had been used since day 1, then it must've been modified on here since day 1 as I was pretty much on here on Day 1 and I absolutely hated since the very beginning, it wasn't the same from what I remembered. Not for better but worse. Most people hate the formula on here due to those aforementioned flaws that I went into detail in on the other post, its just horrible and nothing good to say about it. Should recopy the V1 original formula again and repaste back on the source here to fix it and everyone will be happy again otherwise this won't get back majority of V1ers that you want despite a transfer.
This server may be more bug free and less crashes, but all that doesn't really matter in the end when people are forced have to play with these frustrated nerfs and rates with no fair returns, people will always end up leaving with being fed up with these horrible so called 'balances' to the game.
I actually don't really see much difference between this current server and V1 in terms of content. The only major differences that I see is pretty much the auction house, clan system and batch system on here which are all nice btw, which V1 could've benefited further from. V1 was successful without them, I guess it just excelled in a lot of other important areas that made up for it in terms of cb formula, fair rates, good portal placements and more portals for key areas etc. I almost forgot this is also 1 big frustrating bad difference on here when it does not exist on V1. In V1, Dbones can be buried anywhere in the wildy f2p or p2p, it doesnt matter. On here you can't bury it anywhere in the f2p or even p2p areas unless you bury them in certain p2p areas such as inside the wildy agility course area. That is retarded to the core, making lvling up prayer very very frustrating. Needs to be changed as soon as possible, that is one urgent priority. V1 may have poor codes, but it didn't stop the server from thriving from 2009-2014, no other pservers or any previous emus to the current has lasted that long so far.
There is quite a number of restarts on V1 often but that didn't deter people from playing it, as long as majority aspects of the game was fun and worth playing for and most of the things were fair and reasonable.
Fairer drop and returns like V1 needs to be implemented otherwise people just won't play and the server decline rapid in the long term.
The rest of those minor bugs and non-functional feature fixes need to be actively followed by admins as they are easily overlooked while impacting the game pretty significantly as a lot of those small things add up.
- We have announced our plans to "buff" drops. In fact, we did buff our drops, but it still isn't enough. - We added baby red drags, so you guys could have another NPC to farm easier. - We dropped rares. - We have implemented the DM arena, with advanced statistics. - We have reverted the thieving changes we made which seemed to cause more harm than good. Thieving should be more profitable again. - We have made the stat panel completely free, which used to be a sub only feature. - We have implemented higher experience rates.
There is actually quite a bit which we have done to try to retain our current players and keep them happy.
I actually think your statement was selfish, but I do understand your frustrations too. We have tried to come up with a happy medium, which would bring more players, without negatively affecting the "current" game and players at hand. Instead of being so negative, try to suggest things that will help, not list things you don't agree with.

Pyru, what you guys did yesterday, with the skillers event at the dm arena, that is exactly what needs to be done to keep current players logging in, and happy. Events, races, lvl 3 survival, they are fun and all, but what you guys did yesterday, for xp whores like me, that was a treat. Events like that need to be continued to keep current players happy, it's funny how something that small can up morale so much. We understand that an event like that can't last all day. But a couple hours once a week, we could all get behind that.
I have an idea, though it's going to be an unpopular one.
Instead of entirely FREE PK gear, I propose those gears be obtained by trading real item for the PK-item.
Example: Trade 1 Rune Large Helm for 10 PK-Rune Large Helm Trade 1 R2H for 10 PK-R2H etc.
or 1 for 15. etc. etc.
Reason is that rune items are oversupplied and are going to be even more oversupplied once the V1 transfer comes, making them extremely redundant. The demand of them for PVM is definitely not going to offset the overwhelming number of them in-game. My proposal will not curb the issue entirely but it can drain those items out from the game. 1 for 10-15 is completely reasonable, yes? I mean you die 10-15 times with that item and it only equals losing 1 of the real item. This will make it not free, hence how unpopular this idea is, but it isn't that costly either.

Reinforce the credibility of the server since you know they won't be wiped\sold again in 12 months or whatever. This is the main reason people were hesitant to start again. 4. Many of us spent a lot of time grinding v1 AND v2 to build banks it's only fair to get back that time spent (or wasted). 5. It builds good will with the players and they'll be supporting the server more generously.

I like the idea of giving players the opportunity to login and PK right away, as there may be many former players who wish to PK but don't have the time/desire to to buy the necessary items to go PK. That being said, one of the things that makes PKing fun is the possibility of getting items, as well as the excitement/risk of losing your items - which would appeal to more seasoned players with the resources to PK.
In order to maintain a balance and preserve enjoyment for both groups, I recommend closely monitoring (and perhaps even proactively soliciting) user feedback on this issue.
Personally, I believe that more weight should be given to the opinion of loyal/long-term players, while recognizing that we need to attract new players to the community. In this context, I believe that 4 free PK days a week is excessive, and that it should either be reduced to 1-2 days per week, or is changed to an "event" format in which the entire week (or month) allows for free PK. For greatest effect, this could be accompanied by a marketing campaign to non-frequent members or those outside the RSCE community.
